Bombshell March Blog Hop - Metallica-rt 3/31/10

HELLO !!
Shannon, Thank you for the opportunity to be Blog Hop Captain.
Ms. Inky did an awesome job, sorry to see her go!
Welcome to the March Bombshell Blog Hop.  The theme is METAL
Try using metals in your project.
Make something on metal, metal accents, metal embellishments, or even "Metal" music...
Your choice just tell us how it fits with the theme.
I have two projects.  With a Dad that loves old cars...
I had to take the opportunity to make him a couple of things for his birthday this month.

This frame is to put a picture of my girls from a car show we went to.

I started with a $1 wooden frame.
I used silver metallic cardstock and embossed it using my Cuttlebug.
I cut strips and "mitered" the edges.  Then I added a stamped Bombshell image.
The car is from the Speed Shop set.
I added some green "punchinella" from Gauche Alchemy..
the word and definition of "car" from a vintage dictionary (inked with Tim Holtz distressing ink)..
a couple of cool washers...
and voila....cool Dad present.
Next is his card.

The background was made with a Cuttlebug folder.
The car was stamped on foil tape with Staz-on (love that almond smell)
Then some color was added with Copics.
There are three metal brads at the top and green foil paper behind the Happy Birthday.

Now, how do you win this great prize package below....

Well you can win it by having fun Hopping along.

(shhhh....keep an eye out at Bombhsell Stamps.....very soon....)

Oh and this...
Thanks to some Bombshell Stamps and some of the goodies from my Gauche Alchemy order.....
Oh and the flowers are Prima "Rebellious"
I used Bombshell Stamps to add to the paper and for the name of my daughter's Halloween costume.
I also used them to embellish two of the flowers.  The skull stamp and the fleur de lis are stamped onto the Prima green flowers.  The rhinestones the paper clip and that cool metallic stuff are from Gauche Alchemy.
The cool metallic stuff is something they like to call Punchinella...look for it there!!
The cool purple glittery skull is from a Halloween swap I did at the "Smeared and Smudged" site.

OWH - Operation Write Home Springbreak BlogHop !!

Thanks for taking the time to visit me on this BlogHop.  If you happened upon this, please start at the beginning RIGHT HERE that way you won't miss anyone!  There are blog candy on various stops, so make sure to hit them all!

I love making cards for Operation Write Home.  These brave men and women are risking their lives and are kept from their loved ones for long periods of time.  We all know how nice it is to get a card in the mail once in awhile.  Think of how wonderful it would receiving a card from a loved one who is serving overseas.  It is something completely unexpected and might be "just the thing:"

Here is a little "Any Hero" card I made.  They are for servicemen/women that maybe just haven't gotten mail for awhile, or that need a little boost.  I made it for the Scrappers Delight DT.  The image is from Jessica Lynn Original

I will be sending some nice "commenter" some Blog Candy just for leaving me a note!  It is an assortment of papers, ribbons and stickers.  If you do not currently participate in some way with OWH, I hope that you will consider doing so in the future!

Leave me a comment below, and then hop on over to see Loni at LONI'S LIFE
She is quite the crafty person, with a lot of different interests!

My Gauche Alchemy Order got here !!!

I feel like Steve Martin with the Phone book in the Jerk!
Well I thought I was going to do something cool and funky...but this little card came in my Scarlet Fever pack.  It read...."If you could change one thing in your life...what would it be?"

Well, that didn't read cool and funky to me.  But, it did inspire me to make this scrapbook page.
I made the tissue flower, look for a tutorial on that soon.

A Copic Challenge

Just wanted to share a card I did for a Copic Marker Challenge
The birds and rose are Bombshell Stamps.  The hearts were made with my Cuttlebug. The sentiment is a rub-on from Crate Paper.  The Green paper is well....unknown, but it came embossed.

Check out this load of blog candy....

If you have never visited Paper Popsicles, now would be the time to do it!

Altered Book - Bombshell Style

Well those of you that know me in "Stamp-land" may not know that I love making altered books!!
So when the Bombshell Challenge by Ms. March was put up.....I was so excited!

The Challenge is called "Booty Log"
and you need to make some sort of altered book, journal, etc..

I decided that I needed a way to catalog my Bombshell Stamps....so I made an altered book catalog.

It is not done, but I wanted to share what I have done so far!!  Keep in mind the pages need a lot more coloring,
embellishments and work!

I started with a great book from the 1920s that had seen better days.
First step.... reinforce the sad spine (it is kind of like mine...hahaha)
Then I glued the pages together and painted the pages white.
One thing I like to do is look for words on the text that fit with what I am doing and make sure not to paint over them.  This book happened to work well!  I also left the pages with pictures.
The book was made into a movie in the 20s, and there are pictures from it.

I am waiting for the Bombshell Angel stamps set, and I will stamp the cover with the word "Bombshell" from that set.  It will read " Secrets of a Bombshell Addict "

So, here are some preliminary pics!!
