Today continues the transformation of a previous pin from Day 18

I had previously made some shelves out of an old window.

Yesterday I finally got some chicken wire, so I added it today.
There were several inspirations.

I used a heavy duty stapler to add it. I did 2 sides then stretched it and stapled the last two.

Yes upon finishing it and hanging it, I realized the chicken wire goes two different directions....ugggghhh

Oh well, hopefully I will hang enough stuff to make it not so noticable.

I had help from my "youngest" taking the pic today...I will repost tomorrow.

OK today is a weird one I guess. I LOVE the skirt in the pin, and I set off to go to Goodwill
to find some brown skirts to deconstruct to make it.

BUT I found an awesome long dark brown suede skirt (THAT FIT ME) it has squares..not ruffles, but...
I still liked it.

THEN I found that lacey shirt and the pink suede jacket. Because I bought it all at the "by the pound" Goodwill
it was between $5 - $10. I bought other things so I don't know their exact weight. I left the tag on when I took the pics. SUPER happy with my finds today....2 suede jackets (1 to sell) and a pair of dusty rose leather pants that I will be selling!!!

I wasn't thinking about this jacket for me at first...but I pictured it with some embellishments so I will be adding those soon (inspired by a couple of jackets I have pinned). Can't wait to start on it.

All that "romantic western wear" posting the other day on my clothing pin got me on a boho western kick.
Tomorrow back to crafts and then I have a few "clothing" make overs to share.

OK..well since my birdcage did not come out like a beautiful little cage...I decided to work with it.

It looked liked it fit this little skull more than a beautiful bird.
With a little ribbon it is a necklace or decoration.
No craft is a fail...it can always evolve (knock on wood)

OK...that mac n cheese was eating at me. (no pun.yes..pun intended...)

so I had to make some, but a SLIGHTLY healthier version. Homemade with broccoli.

My girls LOVE broccoli and cheese. and it was yummy. I steamed the broccoli in the microwave then added it in. Cut up broccoli, put in a large microwave bowl add about 1/4 cup water to bowl, place a heavy lid on top...then 1-2 mins later...perfectly steamed broccoli. I also added garlic (of course)

These were so beautiful, I had to try it. I made painted Mason Jars on Day 23, but
loved how sheer the color was.
Taking pictures was not easy. I wanted enough light to see the color but not too bright..so forgive.
The pic with the paper behind it makes it look like the color is darker at the bend of the jars, but
it isn't. Keep in mind these can't be used to hold water.

The tutorial I used was at:

I didn't have strawberry baskets so I used a pizza screen.
We had no red food color, and two bottles of blue...so blue it was.
It will look cloudy and thick for hours until it is completely dry.
I did one thicker for a slightly more opaque look, but I like both.

I used a PLAIN jar for one

I twirled it a little while drying to keep some thinner areas covered, but
it all seemed to dry evenly so next time I won't worry so much.
When I took the final pics there was still a blog or two of the thicker one
that hadn't dried, but that's how it all looked before.

LOVE goat cheese and balsamic.

I didn't have any candied Pancetta, but here is what my salad had>

Baby greens and lettuce, craisins, almonds and my dressing

I dont have amounts because I never measure it and everyone will adjust to taste:
It has:
Goat cheese (room temp)
Balsamic vinegar
Olive Oil
water
salt, pepper, onion & garlic powder (I was out of fresh garlic today)
I place it all in a mason jar stir with a fork then shake

Well for this pin...you are only getting the pin.
My camera was having issues and the bread didn't last until it was fixed.
I made it to go in the bread machine, but the paddle was missing, so it ended up in the oven.

I used part whole wheat flour to make it a little healthier. It is a fun "healthy" bread.

I made cream cheese frosting to go on top, and I didn't have pumpkin seeds to add to the top but
it was mmmmmm yummy.

OK...I am going to be making some light bulb crafts, so I needed to clean out some bulbs.
I used the tutorial at:

It is a good tutorial, but I will add some comments, because it did not work as easily for me.

1. Glass pieces can fly...don't do this in your bedroom where you will have bare feet.
Everyone in my house knows that if you come in the craft room bare foot...it is at your own risk.

2. Ok the step where you "grab" the solder point...ummmm NOT. the solder doesnt stick up enough,
or I don't have the right tool. I went right into ...break the glass insulator which is the dark area inside the
metal piece. I proceeded from there.

3. I used a metal file to smooth the glass pieces left on the inside of bulb.

4. Reveal bulbs have a beautiful blue/purple tint to them...Pretty happy with that.

For the shelves that I made on Day 18 I used the pop top hanger idea.

I used a larger "pop top" off a veggie not a soda and was quite happy!

If you were worried about the tab coming off you could use a washer.

For me it worked out to have it loose as this was quite large to hang, it

gave me some wiggle room.

Per yesterday's post, I am not adding new pics to my computer until I clean some off later....

I have found that when a board starts getting full it becomes hard to find things,

Here is some more of the t-shirt redo...
First thing was that horrible neck...it had to go.

There will probably be a day or two with no pins. I am having some computer issues....OVERLOAD...
I have filled memory with THOUSAND of pics that MUST come off. My memory shows in the red.
Last thing I need is a crash.

I have several pins to put up when I have this cleared....which could potentially early tomorrow depending on my schedule. I am honestly afraid to upload one more.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE these mason jars all painted up. I am going to get some spray paint and do some more.
For today I used Gesso and paint to make jars for my craft room bathroom. It was a storage area and sink for rinsing brushes.
I have decided that I want to utilize it more and make it more presentable.These cute jar look great!

I hung the shelves that I made. I added cup hooks to hang a few necklaces. I am going to get some chicken wire and add to the bottom sections for earrings...which I plan to post in a few days. I used this old vanity case to keep make-up in. More update pics soon!

This is a t-shirt make-over pin. I thought for sure I would get it done in no time flat...but life got in the way.
I do have part done....

I am starting with an unflattering shapeless t-shirt with a strangling neck and a t-shirt too small to wear. I love the Oscar pic and hate throwing it away!

The first thing I did was to get rid of that horrible neck. So I removed the banding at the neck of the grey shirt from the shoulder seams forward. Then I removed the entire neck off the black t-shirt. I cut a comfy v-neck on the grey shirt and re-edged it with the black binding.

Next I will be appliqueing the Oscar pick and words on....but not today.

I will show my progress over the next couple of days.

OK...computer issues and time constraints have kept me from posting regularly the last few days.
Hopefully I will be all caught up tonight.

Saturday my pin was a little different. It was not a craft pin. I was off to make scrapbooks for Let There Be Mom. lettherebemom.org/ Think about how you might be able to use your crafting skills to help someone else. This was a pin that I had added awhile ago. It's true. There is something good you get..its a feeling in your heart that you can't get from anything else. It was a difficult day knowing that we had to hurry to get these books done. We wanted to make sure that we got the books done while she can still share it with her children. A lot of her friends were there...usually it is just scrapbookers that don't know the family. So it was difficult dealing with all the sadness. I can only hope that knowing what a wonderful thing they were doing for this family helped to take some of the burden from their heart.

OK, way behind posting ...had a crazy weekend.
This is from day 20.

Obviously not all pins are going to be perfect. I learned a FEW things from this one.

The wire gauge for upward bars needs to be heavier, and I would place a thin bottle of some sort inside the cap to keep wires straight. These I had to keep bending.

BUT, in a couple of days (maybe later) you will see that I have turned a mistake INTO something that is quite fitting.
So..in the end...it all works out.

I owe two more posts..hoping to have them up a little later. It's all a matter of getting the pics edited on my breaks

This is posting a day late because of a computer hiccup last night... I will be taking new pics with it hanging on the wall and switch these out. We may have some SUNSHINE in the next couple of days!!

I have been saving several old windows for sooo long now. I had them hanging in a tree outside.
The shelves are the fronts of old dresser drawers. I am going to add some chicken wire to one of the top squares and a mirror from the other.
Then this will hang in my bathroom for jewelry and make-up.

I am pretty excited to get it hung.

This was a good project for today...cold windy and rainy.
I had an old pair of PINK flannel pj pants

and a great flannel pant re-do pin !!

I love the original red plaid, but you work with what you have.
I am really afraid that this one is going to get borrowed too often in our house of girls!

I think that old flannel shirt sleeves would work, you would just have a thinner scarf. You could
add to it with strips cut from the back and front though.

I like the design so I did a similar one with different colors. This shirt had some paint on the front and sleeve, but it is so soft and comfy. I did mine a little differently than the original pin.

My directions.
Use a thick piece of cardboard between front and back or you will have the same design on back. draw design with bleach marker
***word of caution, shake bleach pen and then squirt some into sink or container. Liquid comes out first and can make a mess. make sure the gel is coming out before you mark your shirt. Let sit a few minutes rinse REALLY well then dry.
I pinned a throw away piece from another T-shirt under the bleach area and stitched around each leaf then like a reverse applique I cut away the insides.
***another word of caution, make sure you are only cutting the top layer and not both...or you will be sewing on MORE fabric.

This is a two-fold sort of Pin.

I found a shirt at the thrift store that was soooo decorated that I knew I had to get it.

So part of this is re-using old found clothing.... and this will be my first project from this shirt.

I was inspired by this PIN and this is no where NEAR as bejeweled, but its the same feel.

The band on the sleeve reminded me of that pin. Mine is more beach in Mexico looking which is
why I added the sea glass and pink shell pieces.

Its fun and I always wear BIG bracelets or LOTS of smaller ones on my left hand. The right hand has a tattoo bracelet, so it always has one.... these are pics from when it was new. So the "new"bracelet is actually a good match up.

OK...today is easy schmeasy......but I was out getting supplies after work....
Which means I went to Goodwill. I have something better started for tomorrow.

A few weeks ago I found a CASE of new pant hangers at a Goodwill that is for furniture and industrial items.
I obviously did not need 200 pant hangers, but it was cheaper that buying 25 at the store.
(oh by the way I will be putting some up in my artfire store for sale...)

So...no more cereal spilling no more chips throughout the cupboard.

OK...Here is my Pin inspiration. I wanted to keep using that sweater....
I was lucky (and I wish I would have taken a picture of the sweater ..pre-chop)
but it had a great design around the neck...so I used that.

I used the collar for the band around the edge of the hat. It did have a re-do. I originally just cut a circle basically around the whole sweater neck and then a circle of the back panel for the top of the hat. It was cute but
looked more like a "rastafari" type of cool hipster hang hat. It was not the look that I was going for though.
so I cut "darts" and tightened up the main part, cut the circle much smaller and Bella was quite happy with it then.

I still have pieces of the sweater left. They are sort of small but I have a feeling they will resurface soon....hint hint.

*Hint - this sweater was part angora.....it shed A LOT during cutting. The fuzz will fly - keep your mouth shut while cutting. I used a machine to stich the top. I am going to go back in and add some decorative stitching on edges and the top, but my daughter took them before I could do it.

Today I took a pair of denim jeans, a discarded bed ruffle, some eyelet lace found at a thrift store and recreated the skirt on the following pin (kind of)

I did learn that you want to use softer or thinner fabric than I used. I will wash this and let it dry with rubber bands around it to pull it in. I am not as happy with the fullness that it has, although on...it looks much better than I would have expected.

These jeans had spray foam and paint on the knees. They were a LOST cause.

There are literally TONS of clothes I have collected to re-purpose or upcycle, and its time to start using them.
I went to see Chatham County Line on Saturday and needed an outfit. I am probably the only person at that concert that was listening to industrial metal on the way there...but hey....

I "adusted" a vintage nightgown Saturday afternoon. The neckline was strangling and the sleeves were awful.
I threw together a mish mosh of other little things I had and some cowboy boots.

My Victorian bulldog insists on being in photographs if he can.....

So I loved some of the new ideas I have seen lately on Pinterest. I saw this and went to Home Depot to get some white spray paint since I was out. On the "oops" paint table were 3 cans of spray paint on clearance for 1cent!!!!
The cans were scratched up...like I care. What luck!!!

Today's project was a sweater upcycle. The same sweater will be "featured" a few other days...keep an eye out. You can get a LOT of things from one old sweater.

When you see that tacky or gross colored jumbo bangle at the thrift store...get it...cover it.

Do I have a TON of old T-shirts that I SHOULD have gotten rid of a long time ago!!
You will start seeing them disappear along with me!

Day 5 = T-shirt Re-do.

Here is what I did. I used a similar piece of metal as the bracelet I made a couple of days ago.
Maybe I should work on an outfit to go with the pieces......

The directions were:

1. grab some cotton t-shirts you don’t wear anymore. larger sizes tend to work better as do non-ribbed shirts with no side seams. small logos on the shirts work fine, too. 2. grab a pair of fabric scissors if you have them, otherwise any scissors will do. 3. lay the shirt out on a flat table in front of you. 4. cut the hem off the bottom and put it aside. 5. cut the shirt into 1-1 1/2 ” horizontal strips all the way up to the armpit. 6. grab 3-4 shirt strips in both hands, and gently stretch them out. the strips will naturally curl into themselves. 7. once you have done this with many of the strips, it is time to get creative. try draping them, wrapping one end with excess fabric, combining colors, braiding them, attaching beads, pins, old jewelry, etc.

The colors on this scarf I found on Pinterest really caught my eye.

I didn't use the EXACT yarn, but I found one with a similar color palate.
I even went a step further and made a matching headband that would cover my ears.
It was 22 degrees when I took my daughter to school today...so I was glad to try it out!!!

It is super wide and fluffy. LOVE it. There will be some similar items up in my Artfire store this weekend, so keep an eye out. You can even choose YOUR favorite color or palate!!

First Day I made swiffer covers. Here is the link for the idea on my Pintrest board.

DAY ONE DONE

Here is what I did. Mine are more simple, because I have the pinch holes on the swiffer. I also added a perfume sample from an ad between the swiffer and the cover, so that as I cleaned it freshened the room also!

What to do next.......

My vow this year is to MAKE...not just be a bi-stander. Yes, I craft all the time, but I want to make this my focus FOR ME!

Today I started a beautiful altered vintage inspired vest that I am hoping I will have done in the next day or two to show off. I am repacking and seeing things that were meant to be paired with something...and then I have been finding the OTHER thing (This is not something that happens too often for me, so its exciting) Which means that a few things have joined forces to be new projects *they are screaming experiment* I still say project and I am in control of the scissors. They need to be finished soon...because...... the

Floor in my office is going to be stained tomorrow night and then polyurethane before bed...then only one day away from moving back in.

I really started a different thought process for organizing when I moved into the temp studio. I like the direction that I was going, so I will continue with more of the same. I am hoping to share some ideas for how I have been able to put together what I think will be a beautiful space on not a champagne budget, not even a beer budget...more like a store brand single soda budget.

Tomorrow I will post the before.....the stained....and the the urethane pics.

Sometimes you just have to have a "home" day

Having a "home" day today, not going to the studio.

Made lunch, clothes are hanging on the line, Banana Oatmeal bread in the oven.

Finishing up some work on the computer with the windows open.

Not too shabby.

The girls are having a Mediterranean salad for lunch.

Israeli couscous, salami, mozzarella, marinated mushrooms and red peppers, cherry peppers, fresh basil, olives and olive oil topped with Cappicola.

Man do I wish I was having some of this!

Welcome to my new Space....1st look

I thought I would start my new "craft life" by sharing some of my new space with you.
I have never been the most organized person, but I am REALLY trying.
So as I unpack and set up I am hoping to put things up in an organized fashion.
I started today by making containers for some of the most used items.

I still love that great Marah Johnson tattoo paper!

Of course I had to use Thickers for the word THICKERS!!

I also used them for the pencils container.

Of course in this picture you can see empty space between items...and you know it is not staying that way!

Here is the more realistic picture.

Maybe by posting pics as I go....I will feel obligated to keep it neat!

That is my hope. Baby steps!

Is life beyond crazy...or what. There is no way to catch up on my life...so this will be my new start.

I start crafting in my new space this weekend !!! All painted ...all filled (and more).

Thus begins the journey.

My work office and art office share a space at EarthDust Studio. The workspace for Art Loves Chaos FactoryWerks and Studio along with Little Lost Bohemian Art and Altered Boutique.

PRETTY EXCITING!! I am hoping to start sharing photos next week. With all good there of course comes bad. I asked to be on hiatus from Bombshell Stamps and Gauche Alchemy. That just about KILLED ME !!!

I will start doing some Gauche stuff this week and hopefully at some point be able do some work for Bombshell stamps again (because I UBER UBER love them)

Also working on some projects for Scrap N' Art magazine and the team there couldn't be ANY BETTER!!

There will be some big changes on this blog and a lot more projects to be shared! There will also be alot of art and altered items in the ArtFire store now instead of just scrapbook and art supplies.

A couple of years ago we made Day of the Dead Christmas ornaments. To some that sound really disturbing I am sure, but Oh well....
We made Mexican Tissue paper flowers and festive skeletons. I even made a day of the dead angel tree topper.

Bombshell Halloween Blog - With a Twist Please....

These monthly blog hops have been lots of fun.

I have made a lot of new online friends and seen some great creations.

I want to thank Shannon for having enough confidence in me to do the job.

Right now I think that the Bombshell Blog is the coolest thing

that Bombshell Stamps is going to have going for it.

Don't have time to check the whole forum....dashing to work....

OK...I love stamping letters. I have great big ones...teeny tiny ones, but I needed a great middle size set with upper and lower case letters.

BRAVO Plaid All Night Media Typewrite Alphabet. It's perfect. They are red rubber attached to foam. The foam blocks are about 7/8" square for the upper case letters.

I use them all the time now.

Here is a layout I used it on for Better Living Through Scrapbooking, the challenge was (probably obvious) scrap about our favorite color. The great thing about the challenges there is that there are challenges within challenges. Why not try this one out... CHECK IT OUT HERE

The clothes were cut on a Cricut using the SCAL program
and the files from Bombshell Stamps.

The embellishments are all from Gauche Alchemy kits.

The ribbon and sewing pattern were used to wrap up some items

I received from them.

Packing tape transfer

Did you see the coolr packing tape transfer pieces over at the Gauche Alchemy blog??

BUT....Did you know that you can use color xeroxes as well??

Here is a tag I made using the same technique but with a color xerox. I also used plenty of Gauche Alchemy products too!!! Something from each color kit and the Wholly Sheets.

Most of these projects are old, but fun never the less!

No reason for this blog, just sorting through pics and projects.

The first is just an altered clipboard I made for my

Clothing Designer daughter.

I added clips at the bottom for ribbons, drawings, etc..

The name of this project is "How do U measure time".

The pics and rock are from a great hike we went on.

It is hard to see but the pictures are staggered out inside the cigar box.

Sometimes you just have to take the day off and go!

This wine bottle made a great display for a fun picture from Italy.

So I thought I would share a canvas project from our vacation last summer.

We had fun watching the planes with signs trailing behind, so I added that for my title.

I painted the background, added shells and sand from the beach.

I cut the girls from a picture we too while we were there with the wind blowing.

The cute little fence reminded me of the one outside the hotel.

I of course used Glue arts to add my embellishments!

I ONLY used products that I got there.

Inspired by Angela Pruitt and Candy Ford.

They made mini-albums for the Paper Bag Company while we were AT CHA

and I thought it was a great idea.

I LOVE making mini-albums of vacations or fun events.

I have one more page to do and some tweeking on a few others but was excited to put it up....

OK, I have the MOST exciting news for myself that I have had (except for my children) in over 20 years. I get a VACATION, and not just any vacation....a craft vacation with friends! And to top that I get to go to CHA! Whew, pinch me pinch me!

SO to celebrate my excitement, I am going to be giving aways some goodies. I have a few things now, but I am planning on picking up a few things while I am at CHA to add! I will be posting pic from there all week.

Bombshell DT Artist Trading Card Bloghop

ATCs are something new for me. This was great to start it off. I love ALL of the cards that I received.

I am making something cool to put them all in. It inspired me and I am working on more now.

When we started we were going to try to pick a "Bombshell" most like us.

Well, I started shooting on a rifle team when I was 10 years old.

It was a great confidence booster and I made a lot of friends.

(I grew up in Oregon, so it wasn't that odd)

For mine I picked the Retro Cowgirl Set! She's a pistol packin' hottie!

Since ATCs are the size of playing cards....and playing cards remind me of the Old West,

I actually used cards for my base. I stamped the flowers with the spur stamp.

I used the barbed wire stamp at the bottom. I added a fabric "bandana" in the corner.

The Cowgirl was colored with Copic Markers

I would love to show you the cool cards I got...but you need to hop to see 'em all!

IT WAS FUN !!

Time for being hot...it's summer!

So what's the deal with a "Boy Toy" bloghop.

Well, it's dedicated to the men in our lives.

Doesn't have to be a boyfriend or husband..... maybe a soldier, a father, or just a masculine theme or card.

Bombshell stamps have always been great for "manly" things, but now more than ever.

Just think about the new digi clothes stamps for the Bombshell Angel. The policeman, fireman, etc... they are GREAT for sending out that perfect card.

AND MAN...the new motorcycle stamps !!!

Here are a few projects that I used as examples.....

Manly Bath Salts

Well this month I decided to help hubby help himself! (and me)

I have heard more than once....

"Hey, do you remember when I fixed _______ on my bike"

"Uh, no......"

So I made him a mini-file set-up for his "Man-Cave"

I am going to mount a file holder on the wall and add this.

I have added his registration, insurance, receipts, etc..

Now he can ....find it himself.

I used a 12 x 12 page protector, cut it down and put it around the file holder.

I used the COOL new motorcycle stamps I got and the Tattoo Font stamps to embellish it.

The corner "pinstriping" is from the Lady Luck set.

Great Challenge for June at Bombshell Stamps - Memory Boxes!

This is not my Bombshell project, but just an example of a Memory Box.

I made this (many years ago) to hold special things from my father in law.

The outside has a handsome picture of him from WWII.

Inside it holds (the ones I have found in boxes) the cards he made me and my children for many years.

He suffered from Parkinson's Disease but he loved art and did his best to continue.

Many of these items were made when he was in his 70s.

They are sometimes shaky, but always filled with love.

He was quite the upcycler - as the cut outs were made from cereal boxes.

The characters were of course my family and the scenes of our various homes.

When I open boxes from the attic (oh there are plenty) and I find one of these treasures,

I always add them in.

My daughter loves the new Bombshell stamps as much as me. She asked today if she could color some stamps....of course!

So she colored Rose 3 different ways. She has inspired me to use my colored pencils this weekend!

I LOVE my new stamps.

This one is actually covering one of those horrible lawyer magnets that come with the phone book.
My frig is having a make-over.
After coloring her...I ran her through the Xyron machine and slapped it over Joe Schmo Lawyer!!!

Bombshell Bloghop- Look Ma I Did It!!

This month the theme was a little more open to interpretation!

Call it a Mother's Day theme....or Just fun.

This month, we want to see what you are made of....and what you can make.

I asked everyone to make any sort of project, a card, a layout, an altered object...whatever...

They just needed to include a handmade embellishment.

It could be a flower, button, etc... they just needed to make it.

Then, pair it with a great Bombshell stamp and get ready for the bloghop.

What is a handmade embellishment.....that you will find out on the hop.

I have a couple of examples before my final project for the hop:

This first one is layered flowers with a bottlecap center.

I added a shrinky dink printed with a Bombshell stamps Day of the Dead skull!

This is just a "pre-made" flower, but by adding some stamps, sort of made it my own.

The dice on this card were made from Fimo clay.

This month I wanted to use the COOL new Bombshell Motorcycle Stamps!!!

They totally rock...and a hint...they will be a great plus for next month's hop....

First I couldn't find my "checkered" ribbon....so I made some!

Then using shrinky-dink plastic I used a motorcycle stamp and made two buttons for the card.

I used the same stamp for the center of the card.

Now look at all the other cool stuff our "hoppers" came up with!
