Day of the Dead Shrines (Repost from 2012)

This is a repost from 2012, but great for today!

So happy to be crafting again. If any of you know what my last year has been like you KNOW I am enjoying getting a little of my life back.

The last day or two I was working on this little shrine.

Música de la Luna

The musicians glow in the dark.
As does the moon and the stars in the background and on the ceiling.

I am already working on several more...please check back soon.

Here are some older cigar box shrines and projects

Paleo Cooking Spree Today

I have been so busy lately and unable to do any baking.
Well today I made up for it.

1st recipe
Paleo Pineapple Upside Down Cake

Have some tweaking to do.
I also need a large pan in between the two I have one was too small this was too big so It was thinner than I would have liked.

For the recipe - you can find the link on my Pinterest
http://pinterest.com/pin/22095854394897597/

Here is mine
Now keep in mind this uses almond flour, stevia and Morello cherries. The "topping" is
jaggery instead of traditional brown sugar. The glycemic index is lower and its not as
processed as the other junk.

2nd Recipe
Paleo Banana Bread

For the recipe - you can find the link on my Pinterest
 http://pinterest.com/pin/22095854394872160/

This I have made several times.
I don't use honey, I use stevia. (which I don't measure...sorry)
If you aren't scared of raw eggs (I eat them..I in no way am suggesting you do) ***disclaimer
then you can taste the batter for sweetness before cooking.
It will always vary slightly depending on your bananas.

Do oil the pan well, or the bottom will stick.

3rd recipe

Pumpkin Bread
For the recipe - you can find the link on my Pinterest
http://pinterest.com/pin/22095854395025871/

This recipe makes a SMALL loaf, use a small pan or double.
It came out very well. I froze a TON of pumpkin this last year.
Again, I used only stevia instead of honey.

OIL the pan!!!

For the 4th recipe I made crackers

For the recipe - you can find the link on my Pinterest
http://pinterest.com/pin/22095854394335177/

I forgot to get parmesan today so instead I added sesame seeds and black pepper.
I have tried lots of flavors before with these. I love garlic & onion !!

These go REALLY fast around my house so I try and make multiple batches at once.

Let me know if you have any questions!!

Spellbinder & Die Storage

LOVE my Grand Calibur and Spellbinder dies!!!
BUT they don't do you any good if you can't find them.

I have tried several options.
The first think I tried was a chipboard book I made with binder rings and
strips of magnetic tape.

This worked great when I only had a few dies.

NOW that would be a crazy huge book....so

I am using a "filing system"

Each die set is in a large paper envelope. On the envelope is the name of the die, the number and pic if I have it.
I have them in numerical order.
Why numerical order
#1. They do tend to be grouped by category that way (mostly)
#2. Ease of reference is I use them in a supply list for Scrap n' Art magazine
#3. Easy to find with my catalog reference book

So here are some closer pics of "filing system"

Here is the "Catalog Reference Book"

I have my embossing folders placed in here in a similar fashion.
They are in numerical order smaller ones in front of the large ones.

These are also in the binder.
For double sided embossing folders - in the catalog I have them side by side.
The white paper under plastic was hard to see, so for most I did a little inking just so the
pattern was more obvious..

These both fit on a standard bookshelf along with my Grand Calibur and plates
(pic to be added)

My stamps are being organized in a similar fashion right now....keep an eye out for that in the next week or so.
