Now for the fun part: Each of us Gauche Girls has chosen a word that best describes Why we're so Gauche! Honey, this is where you need to work it a little! Here's what you do: Find all the words and which hoppin' hunny they belong to, head back to the GA Blog & post a comment with your answers - if you get it right, you get a shot at a kick-ass prize pack from The Head Honchettes themselves! See, it's EASY. If you have already started on the hop you should have come from ANGELA.
My word is
CHAOTIC.
The dictionary defintion of chaos was something to the effect of craziness before the creation of something huge (it said a universe...I took it a little more vaguely)
That's kind of how I create.
It seldom ends up as it starts and always seems a little crazy & messy before I am done.
Chaotic also often fits other aspects of my life.
I am a homeschooling, work at home mom, that also likes art, music, scrapbooking, and generally making a mess. So while at the end of the day (or week) most things I need to do get done,
the path there is sometimes a "little" crooked.
oh yeah....the coffee....well that keeps me going.
"Chaos fueled by caffeine"
If I had those sweatpants with the words printed on the back....that's what mine would say!!
List and techniques....
Dollar store frame
Burlap
Bombshell Stamps "Love & Luck" set
Vellum
Prima flowers
Punchinella
Coffee wrapper
various alpha stamps
vintage dictionary
Guache Alchemy goodies (Scarlet Fever/ Envy / Punchinella)
First I took a dollar store frame. and removed the glass (don't worry I am saving it for another project!)
I removed the cardboard back which I will replace at the end.
Cut burlap approximately 2" wider than the frame so that it will overlap to the back.
The coffee wrapper was stitched on. I painted and inked the edges.
I stamped the Bombshell stamps (birds) on with Staz-on ink.
I used the punchinella below the coffee wrapper first as a mask, then as a stamp, then I glued it on the burlap. My picture and the words were printed on vellum.
The photo is attached with staples, the words with a pin out of my GA goodies.
The ribbon, button, butterfly and flower centeres are from my GA goodies.
After preparing the front I hot glued it onto the frame by stretching it over the edges.
I then replaced the cardboard back.
Now you need to check out Steph's blog.... and stare at some more Gauchy Goodness and get to know the rest of the team.
I'll have to come back by and do this. Welcome Kas.

ReplyDeleteYes the title is stamped onto the burlap. I was amazed at how clear it came out. I used foam stamps and acrylic paints. The birds are Bombshell Stamps and I used Staz-on for them.
